Chill but Bumpin!

The intro was epic, it drew me in, but as the lead comes in full at 00:55, i think you should some instrument(s) to highten the epicness, nothing buzzy but something distant and dramatic. I like how you slowly led in the vocals, but i think if you used a high-pass filter instead of a low-pass to lead it in, it would sound like the voice was sort of decending from the heaven's which could highten the dramatic intro. Also, they could be a little louder. Very good harmonic tone throughout the intro. Awsome lead in to the chorus, and yes, the chorus had me dancin! I don't feel like the transition starting at 01:46 wasn't properly introduced, the kick just suddenly cut out leaving me slightly confused. Adding a reverse cymbal there or changing up the instumentation at that point could help with that. Again, the voice starting at 01:52 was a little soft, and maybe that's what you were going for, but I found it hard to understand. 02:19 to 02:47 is just epic, very cool effects there. Everything else to the end is really good, I would just try to add more cymbal during this time, mainly for transitions. Awsome mix overall!

syphonmax responds:

Thanks man and I'll look into all the stuff you've mentioned ;)

Then you must be pretty good...

...to not have put your mind into it, but i guess that's obvious in this case. Awesome job on this, very sweet, almost melonchaly(?) piece. I'm imagining someone riding home in their car, in a 1920's setting, in the rain after going through a stressful ordeal. At 00:20 i thought you were going to break into the "Hulk" theme song for a second lol. Very nice indeed :]

KgZ responds:

Well I'd be lying if I said I didn't completely put my mind into it, but I just played what I'm feeling inside of myself right now. I like your setting though, it definitely fits.

Thanks for listening!

Mack is back

This song is the shit. In fact I'm imagining a "Flight of the Concords" moment, like you gotta girl in your pad and you're tryin to get her in bed, and you just randomly break into song with this, while Grim and MPZ pop out of nowhere from behind a doorway or something to do their bit. Eh, maybe an idea for a future music video lol. Seriously though, fluid lyrics on all fronts and great background track that gives off the same vibe as the message of the lyrics. Plus, straight to the point = awsomeness. Keep up the good work as always :]

Mackity responds:

Yo I was smokin a fat blunt then I came back and saw this review and was like oh shit, cool. Thanks again yo, you already know.

Awsome sound

I love that kinda bass, and the beat made me dance in ma seat lol. As well as the skips were initiated, some changed the rythm in a bad way. For ex. at 00:27, it sounds like a CD skip, which disrupts the vibe because it added like a half beat there. And then 30 seconds later, the song fell into some muffling filter with no lead in, like it was too unexpected, but the resolve at 01:05 was beastly. You've got some pretty awsome melodic stucture here and like others have said, your mastering techniqure is on par with professional producing. I'd like to hear more stuff like this :]

Smokazzi responds:

Ah yes.. That stupid 00:27. I really need to fix that one.

Seriously Tight

Bro, how's it been? Ok, so I'm lovin the beat. Sometimes it's hard to make hits sound good, and they even turn out being akward, but the way you use them in this song works perfectly. As a second legit attempt, I gotta say this sounding close to professional, I just wish that you had an actual ending instead of having it cut out. Plus the rapid keys in the beginning are kind of akward. Good to see you workin with different kinds of music, keep it up man!

dj-KDUB responds:

woah! whats up buddy?! i haven't talked to you in forever haha. we still have gotta make that collab, remember? anyway, glad you liked it! hope to hear from you soon

I don't know...

how long this song has been on the all-time top scoring list, but I'm not surprised it's there, this is such an epic song! I also don't know who would take you and the reapers' place if you all left cuz that would be quite a gap to fill. I gotta say this along with "Street Lights"(if that's the name, i know smurf did the beat) and of course "Now it's All on You" are my favorites thus far. Great stuff guys, and keep it up as always!

Mackity responds:

Lol damn bro, you kno how to make an artist feel like he the shit. Nah tho thanks alot for the review and shit.. The other song is called "Traffic Lights." But I made that same mistake before and I'm ON the song.. so Street Lights it is haha. We gonna keep it comin so keep on lookin forward to it. Thanks again yo.

Friggin a!

Nothin I can critique about this really, it's just amazing! I hope this gets weekly top five.

Rawrthaas responds:

Hah. I wish. Thanks though :)

When I first saw this...

on the front page featured music, and heard it, I knew this would make the weekly top five. You've definitely got something going on here, not only do you have five different genres in one song, but it seemed to flow smoothly from genre to genre. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to have a definite ending, but the content more than makes up for that.

Kickin beat, but almost no melody

the beat you have goin on here is really awsome, but other than that, this song doesn't quite have the melodic body it could. I hear a distant melody that seems to be stifled by some filter, but since it isn't that loud, it really doesn't help. I would say increase the volume on the melody or take off any filters that make it sound so light, then you would have a way better song here. Don't let the low score be disheartening, keep it up.

Woah

Make more! This is awsome, and needs to be a song. Kick seems just a bit light, but other than that a-ok. I gotta know though, how did you master this?

simonstart responds:

Thanks man :D

master?? I'm pretty new to this stuff so I'm not sure if master is a technical term for something, but if you're asking it in the context of me being a master at this ( thanks in this case ;D ) than it goes alittle something like this :

I've been DJing electronic dance music for about 2 years, getting into production, and I just lie back and shut my eyes and listen to songs I love and really try to focus on how the structure of the song and everything works, and I just went from there.

This stuffs fun and I'll definitely stick to it, so hopefully you catch more of my stuff :) Thanks for the review!

Filling time with music.
Gonna keep doin it til I can't.
