For those few who are curious, I've created another account here on newgrounds under the alias "Strigideus". I'll be posting music under this account from now on, but I will of course still check this account from time to time. I might even post music on my "takeflight" account every now and again, but I felt it was time for a change. Keep up the good work fellow newgrounders!

This is at least some of the problem's regarding musics downfall in the recent decades:

.
/* */
Now I'm not saying there was never any good music leading from, oh say the 60-70's to now, but it's all about manufacturing hits to tailor to the public's taste. It's not music if it isn't profitable, so it seems. And the fact that these labels trying to use the law to maintain rights to what they claim is their's is mutilating the very core concept of art there in. It's kind of sickening, but I digress.

Here's a bit of south park with a message pertaining to this matter, except for the subject being films:

.
/* */
The quality of this video is crappy I know, but it's the message here (about 30secs in) that every artist, whether you medium is strings, canvas or film, should consider. When an artist creates, he shares with the world his creation, and that creation becomes a part of those who observe. The creation is then no longer solely his (I know I'm taking this message from an animated tv show, but it's still valid). I understand giving credit where credit is due, and having people know what you created. And I understand that now and days, people need to make money to survive. Despite this, the music industry's copyright laws are just savage, and they are killing art, and artists alike.

my two bits....

For a while I've been wanting to write more classical music, but I realize that while the stuff I have now is good, I know there are some really awsome sounding orchestral programs out there. I've been doing some research and found some pretty cool stuff, but I'm looking to see what people with actual experience would recomend. If you can help out that would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for any and all ideas for writing orchestral music on my computer.

So I made an account on SoundClick figuring that I should start expanding outside of newgrounds.com. It's a pretty cool website, and if you have some time, check out my account at http://www.soundclick.com/takeflightus .

MUSE has announced the release date for their next album: "The Resistance", coming out: Sept. 15th 09 (Hell Yes!!) along with their first single in 3 years entitled "Uprising"!! Check it out on iTunes, Rhapsody, or where you get your music and enjoy the pure awsomeness!!!! MUSE FOREVER!

"Lost Song"---------------------------------

A little while back, I was backing up all my files so i could reformat my computer. After i reformatted it, I found that i forgot to back up my saved ".flp" songs in FL studio and my sample library. All I have now are the .mp3's that I ripped off my ipod which are now what I consider my "lost songs". They mainly consist of older projects that I was eventually going to finish and post on newgrounds. I will still be submitting them, but now unfinished as I can't go back and work on them now. Maybe people will like them, maybe not, we'll see I guess.

Everyday or so I will post a new "lost" song until they're all submitted. There are only about 4-6 of them that are finnished enough to be submitted.

"LP Remix"--------------------------------

Another thing I'm thinking about is making my Linkin Park remixes into a series. I already have 2 up, and it seems people enjoy them, so why not? I know that Mr. Hahn already beat me to the punch with "Reanimation", but still their music is just so much fun to remix. I'm experimenting on "Lying From You" right now, and it's turning out pretty well.
